Information for visitorss and conference participants.

Conference Fields of Work:
• Planetariums as a special phenomenon in global history and culture. Modern planetariums. The concept of planetariums, the Russian and foreign experience.
• Demonstration of planetarium equipment and its potential. Expanding the focus area of planetariums. Special projective equipment for planetariums. Producing fulldome shows.
• Application of interactive museum technologies in the sphere of education and culture
• Major areas of academic research in planetariums. Planetariums at the confluence of culture, education and science. Popularizing ideas.
• Scientist’s tribune as a communication channel between scientists and non-professionals, and the source of reliable information about the latest scientific achievements   
• Collective work of planetarium crew and scientists to create general-audience programs showing achievements of the Russian science
• Observatory as a part of planetariums
• Role of planetariums in forming space thinking
• Architecture of planetariums: modern trends. Special projecting and building methods, as well as technological equipment of modern planetariums. Architectural acoustics in planetariums
• Commercial activities in planetariums. Sphere of extended services. The results of the Conference will be recorded in a resolution
• Legal matters. Financial and legal aspects of modern planetariums.

• Popular-scientific fulldome show
• Reports on the methodological work in planetariums. Planetariums as cultural, educational and scientific complexes. Planetariums as means of science popularization.
• Innovations and new forms of work in planetariums.
• Specific designing, construction and tooling of modern planetariums.
• Presentations of new planetarium equipment.
• Presentations of new planetarium software.
• Presentations of planetarium content.
• Other topics approved by the Conference Organizing Committee.

Conference Conditions:
  • All the reports are given in a real-life mode and accompanied by slide presentations.
  • Guest speakers are invited to take part in the Conference.
  • Due to time limit, the Conference Organizing Committee reserves the right to include submitted lectures into additional sections or poster sessions.
  • After all the submitted applications are processed, the Organizing Committee plans to divide panel sessions into several sections. A more detailed program of the International Conference "Planetariums of the XXI century" will be sent to participants together with the second information letter.
  • Requests and questions concerning the Conference can be sent to the e-mail of the Organizing Committee mentioned below.
  • All the Conference materials will be presented in the dome and classrooms of the Cultural and Educational Center named after Valentina V. Tereshkova, as well as on roll-ups and in information booths
  • Seminars and workshops will take place in classrooms of the Cultural and Educational Center named after Valentina V. Tereshkova
  • Due to time limit, the Conference Organizing Committee reserves the right to accept or decline submitted applications after consideration.
  • Requests and questions concerning the Conference can be sent to the e-mail of the organizing committee mentioned below.

Procedure for Receiving Applications:
Deadline for receiving applications from dome speakers – April 30, 2019.
Deadline for receiving applications from speakers lecturing in other rooms – May 15, 2019.
Deadline for receiving applications from the Conference participants – May 31, 2019.

Information for Conference Participants:
During the Conference, the Organizing Committee plans to provide participants with the following opportunities:
- Taking part in the press conference of the Conference Organizing Committee
- Continuous communication with representatives of federal and regional mass media
- Spreading promotional merchandise and information products in paper or electronic format*.
The Organizing Committee also develops a cultural program for the Conference participants.

Organizational Issues and Financial Matters:
The Conference participants will cover food costs, and expenses related to travel and accommodation by themselves.
The Conference participants should pay registration fee in the sum of 1000 RUB upon arrival.
* Those participants who would like to distribute their information products and promotional materials in paper or electronic format during the Conference should pay registration fee in the sum of 5000 RUB.
Institutions and individual lecturers who would like to present commercial or advertising information in the form of speeches, presentations or poster sessions should discuss the exact registration fee with the Cultural and Educational Center named after Valentina V. Tereshkova after submitting their applications.

Appendix 1

Requirements to the Submitted Lectures

Use specifications given in the end of this information letter to fill your application for participation and compose proceedings, and send them to the above mentioned e-mail address of the Organizing Committee.

Specifications to the formatting:
1. Texts must be written in Microsoft Word
2. Sheet size: A4, portrait layout
3. Texts should be no longer than 1 page
4. Margins: the top margin – 2 cm, the bottom margin – 2 cm, the left margin – 3 cm, the right margin – 1.5 cm
5. The left indent - 0, the right indent - 0, the first line indent– 1.25 cm
6. Spacing before a paragraph - 0, spacing after a paragraph - 0, line spacing – 16 pt
7. Times New Roman, font size 14
8. The full title of the abstract (proceedings) positioned in the page center (in capital letters)
- the full name of the author (co-authors)
- abbreviation expansion
9. The name of the organization
10. The author’s and co-authors’ e-mail address(es)
11. The full text of the abstract (proceedings) stretched horizontally; links and footnotes at the author’s (co-authors’) discretion
12. Conference languages: Russian and English
13. Black-and-white images with captions and MS Excel tables should be sent as separate files.
